Hydrothermal fields in the Mid-Atlantic Ridge: Setting and prospects for further discoveriesA. O. Mazarovich, and S. Yu. Sokolov Laboratory of Geomorphology and Ocean Floor Tectonics, Geological Institute, Russian Academy of Sciences (GIN RAS), Moscow, RussiaAbstract[1] Analyzed is the setting of active and inactive hydrothermal fields and sulfide occurrences on the Mid-Atlantic Ridge between 65oN and 65oS. Multifaceted interpretation of data has enabled a prediction of how sulfide mineralization is distributed in the Atlantic Ocean. Received 17 October 2002; published 29 October 2002.
